Daily Drabble 5/18/14
Today's Daily Drabble features a woman who's been a constant source of inspiration in my life, Audrey Hepburn. I've always loved Audrey, not only for her beauty and contribution to a slew of classic films, but also because she was an incredible woman whose brilliant work as a humanitarian was scarcely recognized. As a young girl growing up in World War II, she reportedly ran messages for the resistance in the Nazi occupied Netherlands. She studied as a dancer and was told that she would never find success; all the same, she moved to London and New York in her pursuit of her dream, eventually achieving international acclaim in the world of film acting. Later in her career, she focused on her family and work for charity, raising awareness for child hunger.
