Daily Drabble 6/12/14
Okay, okay. I admit. The Daily Drabble thing has gotten to be more of a Weekly Drabble thing. But changing the tag would feel a bit like giving up on a challenging goal, so I'm gonna leave it to motivate myself to keep up on productivity.
Part of the reason my updates are coming few and far between is my newfound friendship with Illustrator. I've been playing with the program a lot lately, and I have to say, I'm getting to be very comfortable with the interface. I'm sure there are a lot of tips and tricks I have yet to pick up, but as far as learning the program, I like to think that I'm well over the hill.
So here's my latest Illustrator piece. It's another fan art design for Fantasy Con, this time of River Tam. Though the composition may not make as much sense as my Khaleesi piece did, I like keeping these portraits self-contained and far from the edges. That means that I can use the asset for practically anything, and I can always go back and crop it differently later.
I also pride myself on adopting as non-destructive a workflow as possible. The reason I do this is because it allows me to create many different versions of the same image-- as I've done here.
